Back to School Night

Science Fun

We are scientists!

We had fun problem solving last week.  Saving Fred was definitely the highlight to the week.  Teamwork was key!

I am looking forward to our first full week of school.  Back to School Night will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd.  I look forward to meeting everyone and being able to go over some essential information.  In the meantime, this is what you need to know for the week ahead:

Wonders 

Students will begin using the Wonders Language Arts curriculum this week.  Each week will focus on a vocabulary skill, comprehension skill, a set of vocabulary words, and a spelling pattern.  We will end the week with a reading assessment and spelling test.

                                              The Garden

This Wednesday, we will have the opportunity to plant fall crops in the garden.  I am looking forward to the students explore the parts of the plants and getting their hands dirty.

Class Dojo

Please remember to sign up for the class dojo.  It is a great way to keep track of how your child is behaving and is an easy way to contact me throughout the day.

Pictures

I am looking forward to posting pictures of the things we have been doing in class, but will need to confirm with the front office that your child may be photographed.

NWEA MAP Testing will begin Tuesday, September 8th.  3-T will test Reading on Tuesday and Math on Wednesday.  Please help your child prepare by encouraging them to get rest and be on time to school.  This test will help us meet the needs of your child throughout the school year.
