Can It Be the End of October?!

It seems like we just started school, however we are halfway through the first marking period.  Here are some reminders/announcements:

Unit Tests:

We are coming to the end of Unit 1 in ELA and Unit 1 in Math.  Therefore, we will have our ELA unit assessment this Thursday and Friday.  Your child will review Monday through Wednesday, so there is no need to study for this assessment.  The Math Unit 1 assessment will be next Tuesday.  Your child will come home with a unit review on Monday.  Please review in preparation for the test.

Red Ribbon Week:

Next week, we will acknowledge the Red Ribbon Week with the following themed days:

October 26 (Monday)
RED-dy to be Drug Free
Wear red attire.

October 27 (Tuesday)
Team up against Drugs
Wear sports attire your favorite sports jersey.
October 28 (Wednesday)
One School, One goal, Drug Free
Show your school spirit. Wear your “Leap for Learning” walkathon shirt or any National Park attire.

October 29  (Thursday)
Give Drugs the Boot!
Wear cowboy/cowgirl/country attire

October 30 (Friday)
Say BOO to Drugs!
Wear your Halloween costume.

Conferences:

All parents should have signed up for a conference online, requested a date&time, or you have been assigned a conference time slot. Please contact me ASAP if you are unable to make your conference time and would like to reschedule. I am looking forward to updating you on your child's progress!

Halloween:

We are looking forward to a fun-filled, Friday on October 30th. The parade will begin at 12:00pm.

Fun in the Community Garden

We had a lot of fun planting Autumn crops in the Community Garden.  We have been studying the life cycle of plants in Science and really enjoyed getting our hands dirty! Please enjoy the pictures!
